U.S. Supreme Court To Review 'Obamacare'

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- On Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court opens three days of hearings on the Affordable Care Act -- referred to by critics as Obamacare. And some prominent Minnesotans in the health care debate are watching closely.

Rep. Michele Bachmann will be there.

"I got a ticket to be a part of the Supreme Court -- to be in the audience to hear the Supreme Court's decisions," said Bachmann.

The Republican congresswoman from Minnesota -- who's running for reelection -- says her No. 1 priority is the repeal of Obamacare.

But another Republican -- former U.S. Sen. Dave Durenberger -- predicts the law will survive its court challenges and will not be repealed by Congress. He does believe changes will be made, however:

"This law is not the 'be all and the end all.' It's the heart of the policy change that people have been working on forever," said Durenberger.

Durenberger now heads the National Institute of Health Policy at the University of St Thomas.
