Mpls Police Ask Public's Help After String Of South Side Robberies

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Minneapolis police are asking for the public's help in stopping a string of armed robberies that have happened since late March in the city's south side.

Police say 13 armed robberies have happened since March 21. Most of the robberies happened in the Third Precinct and two robberies occurred in the Fifth Precinct.

Police described the suspects as two men ages 18-25. They approach victims on foot with a silver semi-automatic handgun and steal whatever valuables their victims have, including laptops, cell phones, clothes, passports and glasses.

The robberies have generally occurred between the hours of 8:45 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

The most recent robberies involved a car, described as either a tan or dark-colored Dodge Stratus or Ford Taurus.
