Sheriff: 4-Year-Old Child Dies In Marshall Co. House Fire
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 4-year-old child died after a home caught fire Friday and burned down in Marshall County, authorities said.
Sheriff John D. Novacek, of the Marshall County Sheriff's Office, said police heard of the house fire shortly before 10:20 p.m.
When they arrived at the home, located about three miles north of Stephen, Minn., authorities learned there were up to three children in the house.
Two children made it out of the fire, and ambulances brought them to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D. Their condition is not yet known.
On Saturday afternoon, crews found the body of a 4-year-old child among the home's burned wreckage.
The state fire marshal's office is investigating. No cause has yet been given for the fire.
