Police: Man Steals $3,800 Of Goods Inside Cooler
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A Lakeville, Minn. man has been charged with theft after police say he purchased a $32 cooler, which had more than $3,800 worth of unpaid items inside.
Douglas Theodore Meyer, 51, was arrested on May 6, after store employees found the stolen items. They told police they recognized him from a previous shoplifting incident in April, when he reportedly stole more than $500 worth of items.
Meyer denied to police that he committed theft.
As police arrested Meyer, they found a small baggy in his wallet that contained methamphetamine.
He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance.
