Hunt Still On For Pope County Abduction Suspect

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The hunt continues Friday morning for the man behind the abduction of a Pope County woman.

Authorities said the woman has been found and is safe now, but not all that sound.

The victim was found late Thursday night inside her Chevy Suburban after allegedly being kidnapped by her former boyfriend, 39-year-old Dennis Wayne Aasen, who is still on the run.

The woman was found wounded and although the Pope County Sheriff's Office would not go into the extent of her injuries, confirmed she was recovering at a local hospital.  She was reported missing and her car stolen Thursday morning when she failed to show up for work, and police searched her empty home.

Aasen is described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing about 195 pounds, sporting a shaved head and a goatee.

He may be driving a stolen 1992 GMC Suburban, green in color and bearing the license plate 303-CDX.

Authorities ask that you call 911 if you see him, but do not approach him as he is considered dangerous.
