Police: Wis. Man Tried To Give Baby To Passing Drivers
MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Milwaukee police say a man was arrested after he was seen running in traffic -- trying to hand a baby to passing motorists.
The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports that several vehicles had to dodge the man in the city's north side on Wednesday.
A witness told police the man had been running into traffic and was holding the baby out toward cars.
When police found the man, he refused to give the 8-month-old girl to them. Officers eventually grabbed him and the baby. Officers later learned the girl had a recent heart transplant.
He was arrested on an accusation of recklessly endangering safety.
