MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - One determining factor with where Zach Parise could end up is up-front money - as in who will guarantee an early signing bonus that protects him against a possible lock out. New Jersey has financial difficulties, but going to the finals may make it intriguing to stay.

"The whole experience was awesome, really just going to the finals…it's tough to describe. You have to be there to appreciate it and play in it," said Parise.

Vikings coach Mike Singletary is making a cameo coaching appearance and working out with his son Matt, a Cal Poly grad, at an amateur football practice in St. Paul the other night.

"It's always…I think it's a father's dream to have a chance to coach his son. So this is something we've talked about for many years," said Singletary.

The word is Michael Floyd is not just training in Arizona, but has actually been living with fellow
Minnesotan and Cardinal star Larry Fitzgerald Jr.

The Vikings are still looking at a long list of free agents that are available. Percy Harvin is heading back to train in Florida. One thing working in his favor for a new contract - his agent Joel Segal. He has a good relationship with general manager Rick Spielman.

Christian Ponder will take a week off, and then return to Minnesota to begin his off-season work-outs again. Is Everson Griffin ready to play linebacker?

"I just want to play a lot…honestly…I just want to play and contribute, cuz I know what I'm capable of doing, you know. I just want to help the Minnesota Vikings win," said Griffin.
