Naked Woman Arrested After Lying Out On Front Step

ST. CROIX FALLS, Wis. (WCCO) --  A 52-year-old western Wisconsin woman was arrested after a police officer discovered her lying naked in front of her house last Friday.

According to the police report, Michelle Lamae Knutson, of St. Croix Falls, was found by an officer at her residence on Friday evening.

The officer said it appeared she was passed out on the front steps, naked with her legs open. The officer noted she could clearly be seen in full view to passing cars and pedestrians on the nearby street.

When the officer approached and told her to cover herself, she said she had been locked out of her house by her husband. She said she often walked around naked in her house and, since she was outside, she thought she would lie down on the porch to get some sun.

The officer talked with Knutson's husband and he said both had been drinking, but he hadn't locked her out of the house. He pointed out the back door was still unlocked, which the officer found out to be true.

Knutson eventually admitted she went out in front of her home on her own, and that she hadn't been thrown out by her husband.

The officer noted that there were a number of items on the front porch -- such as pillows and towels -- that she could've chosen to cover herself with, even if she had been locked out against her will.

Knutson was arrested and taken to the Polk County Jail.
