Man Raises More Than $10K For Wis. Tragedy

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- After seeing the heartbreaking story of three girls killed in River Falls, a father in nearby Hudson, Wis. wanted to help.

So, through Facebook, Paul Rode set up in a parking lot and started collecting money for the girls' mother.

"People need to heal and I know it's just money, but it's helping people heal," Rode said.

Rode collected $10,000 by 1 p.m. Wednesday.

He's giving the money to the Hudson Police department, and it will then be sent on to River Falls.

"This woman needs to bury 3 children," one woman said who donated. "It's just horrid and I wanted to do something for her specifically."
