Supervalu Considering Going Up For Sale

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesota-based Supervalu is considering putting itself up for sale.

The grocer that owns Cub Foods stores announced Wednesday it's exploring the possibility of selling all or part of the company -- Supervalu has cut thousands of jobs this year.

The company released plans on Wednesday to further reduce expenses after disappointing sales numbers.

Its stock was down more than 24 percent in after-hours trading.
