Heat Advisory In Effect, Temps To Hit 100 Degrees

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- If anyone was curious what it might feel like to be inside an oven, well today's high should give you an idea.

We'll hit 100 degrees in the Twin Cities on Monday, with plenty of sunshine and a lot of wind. A heat advisory is in effect for much of Minnesota from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, where temperatures will feel between 100 and 105 degrees.

The humidity, plus the heat will keep the outdoor air feeling a bit sweltering as the temperatures climb through the day. We'll have a chance at tying or beating the record high of 102 degrees for today, which was set in 1926.

Be sure to drink plenty of water today and keep cool with these tips.

We'll get a bit of a break on Tuesday when temperatures sink back to the high 80s. But it won't be long -- this weekend shows that hot trend popping in again with temps in the 90s.
