Man Convicted On 11 Counts In Hubbard County Fatal Crash

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 23-year-old Park Rapids man was found guilty Thursday of 11 counts in connection with the July 14 crash in Hubbard County that killed one and injured an infant.

Dean James Roehler was convicted of three counts of criminal vehicular homicide, six counts of criminal vehicular injury and two counts of DWI leading to a head-on collision. Roehler was driving westbound from Moondance Jam in Walker and headed to Park Rapids  at about 5:35 p.m. when he crossed the center line on Highway 34 when he hit an eastbound vehicle head-on.

Authorities determined Roehler was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. Patricia Borman, 52, was pronounced dead at the scene. Alicia Borman, 24, and an infant were hurt in the crash.

Roehler will be sentenced in Hubbard County Court on Sept. 4.
