Body Found In St. Croix River

AFTON, Minn. (WCCO) -- A deceased body has been discovered in the St. Croix River in Afton, Minn. Sunday, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

At 11:56 p.m., the Sheriff's Office received a call to respond to the St. Croix River across from the Windmill Marina on the report of a possible deceased body in the water.

Washington County and St. Croix County deputies responded and located the body. It was determined that the body had been in the water for a long period of time and was significantly decomposed.

The body was removed from the water and transported to the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office.
