1 Dead In Train-Car Collision

EAGLE, Minn. (WCCO) -- One person is dead after a train collided with a car in Eagle, Minn. Wednesday morning, according to the Carlton County Sheriff's Office.

At 7:58 p.m., the Carlton County Dispatch received a call of the collision on the intersection of Birchwood Drive and Highway 210. A Burlington Northern Santa Fe freight train reportedly struck a passenger vehicle at the East Mud lake crossing.

When emergency responders arrived, the driver of the passenger vehicle was found dead.

The crash is being investigated, but it is being called an accident right now.

Names will be released pending notification of family members.
