Woman, 102, To Become Citizen In St. Paul
ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- It's a big day for a 102-year-old Twin Cities woman. She'll finally become a U.S. citizen on Wednesday.
She came to America from Laos, and she's one of more than 100 immigrants set to be sworn in at a naturalization ceremony later Wednesday morning in St. Paul.
After naturalization, foreign-born citizens enjoy nearly all the same benefits, rights and responsibilities that the Constitution gives to native-born U.S. citizens, including the right to vote.
