Harrington To Take Over As Metro Transit Police Chief
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A former St. Paul Police chief is set to become the new head of the Metro Transit Police Department.
John Harrington stepped down as St. Paul Police chief in 2010 after six years at that post. He then got elected to the Minnesota Senate, but decided not to run for another term.
That paved the way for an opportunity with Metro Transit Police. He was recently named the chief for that department and will take over in the new post on Tuesday, Sept. 4.
His State Sentate seat will be vacant until the November election.
