Guthrie Celebrates Season 50 With Kickoff Weekend
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Guthrie Theater plans a ticket sale to celebrate the opening weekend of its 50th season.
The Minneapolis riverfront theater will offer patrons multi-play packages and discounted single tickets from Sept. 21-23.
The first 50 people who come to the Guthrie box office when it opens Sept. 22 can purchase a five-play subscription package for $50. Those packages include plays from the Guthrie's celebration of playwright Christopher Hampton, "Tales from Hollywood" and "Appomattox," as well as a choice of three other main-stage productions from the 2012-13 season.
The Guthrie's thrust and proscenium stages will be open from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 22. Attendees will have the chance to "test drive" subscription seats available for various days of the week.
Main-stage preview tickets will be priced at $19.63 to honor the Guthrie's inaugural season.
