Minn.'s Dayton To Talk Policy At University Event

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Gov. Mark Dayton is roughing out Minnesota's future as he sees it before a university audience in Minneapolis.

The first-term Democratic governor is the keynote speaker for an event hosted by the University of Minnesota's Humphrey School of Public Affairs on Wednesday.

Dayton is scheduled to deliver a speech, give an interview and take questions from policy fellows with the Center for the Study of Politics and Governance.

University President Eric Kaler will be on hand to welcome the governor.

Dayton is nearly midway through his first term as the entire Legislature goes on the ballot in November. He has asked voters to give him Democratic majorities so he can keep campaign promises in the coming two years.

Republicans took over both legislative chambers as Dayton took office last year.
