Man Pleads Guilty To Throwing Vise Out Of Car, Injuring Vet

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A 40-year-old Bloomington man has pleaded guilty to first-degree assault for throwing a vise out of his car that smashed the windshield of another car and seriously injured Iraq War veteran Jon Stacke, according to the Hennepin County Attorney's Office.

According to authorities, Gerret Parks, on numerous occasions in December, January and February, threw bottles and other heavy objects out of his car while driving in Bloomington.

Parks admitted to drinking heavily at the time and remembered very little of what happened, but he said he did not doubt the reports and pled guilty.

Parks' sentencing is set for Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. and is expected to receive 75 months in prison. He is also expected to pay restitution to Stacke and to others whose cars were damaged.
