1 In Custody After Edina Resident Comes Home To Burglar

EDINA, Minn. (WCCO) – One person is in custody after a homeowner arrived to find a burglar inside their residence in Edina, according to police.

The incident happened late Thursday morning on the 6100 block of Xerxes avenue. Police said a resident on that street came home to find someone in his house. The resident then called 911.

As authorities arrived to the scene, police got a call of a man on Highway 62 or near the side of the highway. Police said they were able to detain the man and transported him to Fairview Southdale Hospital for unknown medical reasons.

Authorities said they believe the man found on the highway is the same person responsible for the home burglary. The homeowner was not injured in the incident.
