Patrol: Woman Dies After Crash On Icy Highway

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 63-year-old woman died after suffering injuries Thursday in a head-on crash on an icy highway in northern Minnesota, the State Patrol says.

Madonna Lallier, of Plummer, Minn., died after her PT Cruiser collided with a Dodge Ram pickup truck just after 10 a.m. on Highway 59 in Pennington County.

The driver of the pickup, 54-year-old Elwin Ness, of Middle River, Minn., suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The State Patrol says reconstruction will determine which car crossed the center line. Authorities gave no word on whether the icy conditions were a factor in the crash.
