Texting Led To Crash That Killed Byron Teen

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It is now known that distracted driving was to blame for a crash that killed a 17-year-old girl in southern Minnesota last month.

Police say 17-year-old Deianerah Logan was texting when she crashed into the back of a school bus near the town of Byron.

The crash happened on the first day of her senior year of high school. Now, her parents hope the tragedy will serve as a warning to others.

In a statement the family said, "She made a mistake like all teenagers do in the process of growing up. Except this time there is no growing up. We can only pray that others can learn from her."
