Ritchie: 183,000+ Absentee Ballots Cast As Elections Approach

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – We're less than a week away from one of the most important elections in the nation's history, and thousands of Minnesotans have already voted.

Secretary of State Mark Ritchie said Thursday that more than 240,000 absentee ballots have been requested, and more than 183,000 have been returned and accepted. The absentee balloting period ends Nov. 5, the day before Election Day.

Those who are eligible to place an absentee ballot are encouraged to do so as soon as possible. In addition to the president, local legislative seats are at stake as well as the potential passage of amendments for marriage and voter ID.
