Police Investigate Teamsters Local 120, Execs On Leave

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Top executives of the Teamsters Local 120 are on leave, after police began an investigation into the financial irregularities of some members.

In a statement from the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, which is based in Blaine and has about 10,000 members in Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota and North Dakota, the Local 120 is now under trustee leadership.

The Independent Review Board made the recommendation after learning of the investigation.

Local Secretary-Treasurer Brad Slawson, Sr. and President Brad Slawson, Jr. have both taken a leave of absence pending the final outcome of the investigation.

The investigation is focusing on financial improprieties and improper expenditures involving the executive board and a few outside individuals.

Union representation and functions have been unaffected by the change in leadership, according to the spokesperson.
