STORRS, Conn. (AP) — J.P. Lafontaine scored two goals as Minnesota State, Mankato beat Brown 3-1 Saturday at the UConn Hockey Classic.

Zach Palmquist’s goal gave MSUM a 1-0 lead. After Lafontaine scored to make it 2-0, Mark Naclerio scored short-handed for Brown midway through the third period.

Brown (3-6-4) was outshot 27-19 while dropping to 1-3-2 in its last six games.
