Mpls. Chefs Unite to Help Minnesotans Lose Weight

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - Several Minneapolis chefs are uniting online to help Minnesotans achieve their weight lose resolutions in 2013.

The website, called www.nutrivityweightloss.com, features a dozen award-winning chefs from some of the Twin Cities' top restaurants.

Eric Hall is CEO of Nurtivity Weight Loss.

"We've made it easy for people to eat restaurant-quality food at home while still losing weight," said Hall. "The way we've done this is we've taken 12 of the top chefs in Minneapolis, partnered them up with a dietician and made recipes that are simple to make and delicious."

The gourmet recipes are made with wholesome ingredients that can be customized. You can also find complete nutritional facts before you begin cooking.

Hall says each week people will get a selection of breakfasts, lunches and dinners that are based on whole foods and created by the chefs.

The award-winning chefs are from restaurants such as Be'witched Deli, Icehouse Restaurant, La Belle Vie, Vincent A Restaurant, Victory 44, Pizzeria Lola, Sea Change and Butcher and the Boar.

Mike Ryan, co-owner of Be'Witched Deli and Icehouse Restaurant, says the team of chefs is impressive.

"The Twin Cities dining scene has really come into its own in recent years and I think the team that Eric has assembled is really good," said Mike Ryan said. "I'm happy to be associated with them all."

The chefs' recipe choices are available for vegetarian, diabetic appropriate, heart healthy, low sodium, low cholesterol, high fiber, gluten-free and vegan diets.
