WCCO Makes Friendly Vikings/Packers Wager With WFRV

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One of the biggest games in the history of the Minnesota Vikings is Saturday night as they travel to Green Bay to take on the Packers in the NFC Playoffs.

Plenty of friendly wagers are going on for the big game, so the WCCO-TV Morning Show got into the fun with an affiliate in Wisconsin. The Vikings go into the contest as 8-point underdogs.

In the spirit of the game, WCCO's Mike Binkley and Angela Davis made a bet with the morning crew from WFRV of Rich Klindworth and Tara Joyce.

If the Packers beat the Vikings, both Mike and Angela will have to wear Packers cheese heads on air next Friday and then play, with the audio, Brett Favre as a Minnesota Viking throwing the interception against the New Orleans Saints in the 2009 NFC title game. Then, video will switch to current Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers hosting the Lombardi Trophy after their Super Bowl win.

Mike and Angela will have to react to it all with smiles on their faces, something that isn't easy for Vikings fans.

If the Vikings go to Lambeau Field and beat the Packers, the crew at WFRV is in for a real treat.

Packers fans are in for a long and cold winter if their team loses on Saturday, so there's nothing better than cozying up to a good book about the 50 greatest players in Vikings history. The anchors will have to recite part of the book to their viewers.

The anchors will also have to wear the Vikings horns on air.

Mike and Angela predicted a 23-21 Vikings win at Lambeau. Kickoff is scheduled for about 7 p.m. Saturday.
