Uptown Restaurant Hosting Benefit For Condo Fire Victims

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – An Uptown restaurant is hosting a benefit Wednesday night for those affected by a large fire that destroyed a condo just down the street.

Many residents at the condo lost everything in the fire, which happened Dec. 28, 2012, near West Lake Street and Irving Avenue just east of Lake Calhoun. Minneapolis fire investigators blamed candles that were left unattended as the cause of the fire.

Everyone made it out safely, but they lost their clothing and other day-to-day items.

Amore Victoria, a restaurant near where the fire happened, is hosting a benefit and silent auction Wednesday night. All proceeds from the benefit, which starts at 6 p.m., will go to help the victims in the fire.
