Motorist Killed After Semi Loses Oversized Load

MONTEVIDEO, Minn. (WCCO) -- A 61-year-old motorist was killed after the vehicle he was driving was struck by a semi truck's oversized load in Chippewa County.

The accident happened early Monday morning along Highway 59 north of Milan, Minn.

A semi truck traveling south on the highway was carrying an oversized load when it struck an overhead railroad bridge, which jarred the load from the truck. It landed on a Toyota Camry traveling in the opposite direction.

The driver of the Camry -- George Piaseki of Granite Falls -- was killed in the incident.

The driver of the truck was not injured.
