St. Cloud State Defeats Colorado College 5-2

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Jonny Brodzinski scored a goal and assisted on another as St. Cloud State maintained its lead in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association with a 5-2 win Saturday over Colorado College.

The seventh-ranked Huskies (19-12-1, 16-7-1) extended their lead over second-place Minnesota to two points. The Gophers entered the night one point back but tied Minnesota-Duluth.

Colorado College (12-15-5, 9-11-4) took a 1-0 lead on Rylan Schwartz's goal 3:48 into the game. But St. Cloud State netted the next four goals, capped by Ben Hanowski's 13th goal at 19:57 of the second period.

Kalle Kossila and Cory Thorson also scored for the Tigers.

St. Cloud State goalie Ryan Faragher made 17 saves and Joe Howe and Josh Thorimbert combined for 21 stops for the Tigers.
