Hearing May Come Today In School Shooting Hoax

NEW PRAGUE, Minn. (AP) -- Students are heading back to class at New Prague public schools following a lockdown caused by a fake emergency call about a shooting.

Absent from school Thursday will be a 12-year-old boy accused of perpetrating the hoax that locked hundreds of students in their classrooms and drew a widespread respond from law enforcement agencies.

The New Prague middle school, high school and Central Education Campus buildings were locked down Wednesday after the 911 caller said there was a shooter with an AK-47 and a couple of victims. Authorities determined no one was hurt and arrested the boy. Classes were canceled for the rest of the day.

A juvenile detention hearing is expected to be held Thursday or Friday for the young suspect.
