Minnehaha Academy, Litchfield To Meet In 2A Final

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnehaha Academy will play Litchfield for the Class 2A boys championship.

Kaharri Carter had 29 points and Jesse Johnson added 23 points for Minnehaha Academy in a 91-79 victory over Annandale in the semifinals on Friday. Carter is the son of former Gophers basketball player Randy Carter.

The Redhawks (25-6) took 32-6 lead, enough of a cushion to withstand the Cardinals and their comeback attempts. Brett Ahsenmacher led Annandale with 24 points.

Zach Whitechurch scored 22 points and Zach Kinny added 19 points to lead Litchfield past Esko 72-47 in the other semifinal. The Dragons, runners-up last year, are looking for their fourth title. They won state previously in 2000, 2002 and 2003.

Litchfield (26-5) shot 59.6 percent from the field, going 14 for 22 from 3-point range.
