Old Man Winter Isn't Going Anywhere

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- If you haven't reached your threshold with snow frustrations quite yet, Thursday morning's commute will surely take you there.

The snow is expected to start falling heavily Wednesday night and come Thursday, plows will be out and about.

Lucky for drivers, MnDOT has not yet converted the plows for summer use just yet.

"One big advantage this time of year is Mother Nature helps us," MnDOT's Kent Barnard said. "We have warm pavement temperatures. We have warm air temperatures, and it melts fairly quickly."

MnDOT says it has hundreds of plows on stand-by ready to go as needed.

While less chemicals need to be used, it is not a "free pass" to go any faster on the roads.
