Arson Squad: Help Us ID 2 Suspects

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minneapolis Arson Squad is seeking the public's help in identifying two men who allegedly left the scene of a fire on Sunday morning on East Lake Street.

Authorities say fire crews arrived at 349 E. Lake St. at 6:25 a.m. on April 21 to find heavy smoking showing from the two-story building, as a fire had started in the basement.

Witnesses told authorities they noticed a Hispanic man with a thin build, who stood 5-feet-10-inches tall, exit a Lake Street Door and walk across the street in a northeasterly direction. A second male then left through the west side door and witnesses described him as a black man in his late 50s, 6 feet tall, and wearing glasses.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and anyone with information should call Sgt. McKenna of the Arson Squad at 612-673-3389, or the hot line at 1-800-723-2020.
