MN Farmers Union Holds Women's Leadership Event

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Farmers Union is hosting its inaugural Women's Leadership Conference this weekend in Minneapolis.

Women from all across Minnesota will convene at the Ramada Plaza on Saturday and Sunday.

Scheduled speakers include Minnesota Attorney General Lori Swanson, State Auditor Rebecca Otto and National Farmers Union Vice President Claudia Svarstad, and a large number of Minnesota women who work in agriculture in various roles.

The Minnesota Farmers Union says women have always been an integral part of the farm, and the conference is meant to inform, educate and empower women to use the skills they already have in leadership roles outside the home.
