Memorial To Send Romero's Body Home To Mexico

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Friends and family gathered Thursday night at a benefit held for the motorcyclist who died after his bike collided with a police cruiser.

Police were on their way to help two officers who had been shot in Minneapolis last Friday when Ivan Romero hit the squad as it went through a red light.

Romero's girlfriend, Josselin Torrejon, was riding on the back of the bike. She had gotten injured during the accident, and yet attended the benefit.

Those putting on the event hoped to raise enough money to send Romero's body back home to his family in Mexico.
