Byron Buxton's Promising, But Don't Forget Adam Brett Walker

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Twins' future could be the focus soon if this team continues to place last-place baseball.

And down in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, there is some hope.

Byron Buxton has everyone's attention, but playing right next to him in the outfield down in Cedar Rapids is Adam Brett Walker.

He's big, strong, and he likes to swing hard.

"I love just getting into the box and competing," Walker said.

That's part of what he brings to this organization. He was a three sport athlete growing up in Milwaukee, but has now honed in on baseball specifically, where he's a three-tool prospect.

"I think it helped ... me become a better athlete," he said.

He recognizes he's blessed to play this game.

"It's been awesome and a lot of fun so far," he said. "There's a lot of great guys and I'm just trying to come out hard  every day and it's been going well for me."

Target field is the goal, but for now, Cedar Rapids is just fine.

"The people in the organization are very helpful," he said. "And yesterday we had a packed house and it was a lot of fun. It's been a great experience so far."
