Tips Lead To Arrests In Hastings Gas Station Robbery

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said several tips led to the arrest late Wednesday night of two people in connection with the robbery of a Hastings gas station on May 22.

Hastings Police arrested 27-year-old Joseph Robert Olson and 31-year-old Jacquelyn Irene Keehn in connection with the case. Olson was jailed on probable cause aggravated armed robbery as well as on charges of a previous domestic assault. Keehn was arrested on probable cause aiding an offender and receiving stolen property.

They were taken into custody at about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday without incident at a residence on the 400 block of East 3rd Street. Police obtained a search warrant for their residence and found cash, clothing items and a bicycle used to flee the scene of the robbery.

According to Hastings Police, an armed robbery took place the M & H Gas station on Highway 61 and 15th Street on May 22. A man wielding a knife made threatening gestures while demanding store employees give him money. He then fled on a bike.

The case will be sent to the Dakota County Attorney's Office for a formal review and consideration of criminal charges.
