Patrol: 1 Dead After Motorcycle Crash On Hwy 169

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- One person is dead Saturday afternoon in a crash involving a motorcycle and a truck on Highway 169 near 63rd Avenue in the northwest metro.

The Minnesota State Patrol says at 12:55 p.m., 30-year-old Jeffrey Cornelius of Blaine was driving a Ford Super Duty truck and stopped in traffic on the highway, causing 72-year-old LeRoy Moyer of Elk River to swerve to prevent his Harley Davidson motorcycle from colliding with the truck.

Moyer ending up clipping the back of the truck, causing himself and his passenger, 63-year-old Louise Moyer, to fall off the bike.

Louise Moyer died from her injuries at the scene. LeRoy Moyer suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The accident is currently under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol and the Brooklyn Park and Maple Grove police departments.
