Free Tomato Plants Given Out So People Grow Edible Gardens
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- If Monday's beautiful sunshine wasn't enough, there was some other encouragement to start your garden.
Libby Wyrum, of Gardens of Eagan, was handing out free tomato plants in downtown Minneapolis.
The nursery gave away 1,000 Early Girls, Big Boys and other heirlooms.
They want to kickstart gardens in backyards and patios in an effort to encourage people to grow their own healthy food.
