Plant thieves took flowers and hanging baskets from a home in the Linden Hills neighborhood on Tuesday night.

Jeanne Long said she lost more than $500 worth of plants and pots.

It also happened last year.

“Last year we found out that it was pretty much hit and miss around the neighborhood, so it wasn’t just me,” Long said. “I’m thinking maybe we’ll put everything in the back yard as far as the beautification, and then get a more secure system so no one can get back there.”

Long said she would like neighbors to watch each other’s yards, and speak up if they see something suspicious.
