Man Pleads Guilty To Assault He Was Too High To Remember

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 43-year-old Minneapolis man has pleaded guilty to forcing a woman to give him oral sex, but he says he doesn't remember breaking into the woman's home last year and committing the crime due to being high on ecstasy, Xanax and embalming fluid, among other things.

Nathan Dwayne Jones pleaded guilty Thursday morning to one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. He believes he is guilty, due to the evidence against him.

According to a criminal complaint, Jones broke into a Minneapolis woman's bedroom window. She awoke to Jones standing in her room. He then threatened her with a knife and forced her to give him oral sex.

When Jones allegedly left the home, the victim found the knife he used on the window sill. DNA evidence from the scene matched Jones' DNR profile, according to the Hennepin County Attorney's Office.

During the plea hearing, Jones said he was high on alcohol, ecstasy, Xanax, embalming fluid and marijuana that night. He added that he doesn't recall the assault or the break-in.

Jones has a criminal history that includes first-degree criminal sexual assault. He is expected to receive a sentence of 30 years in prison. His sentencing is slated for Sept. 24.
