Minneapolis Police Respond To 2 Separate Shootings

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Two men were shot overnight in two separate shootings, according to the Minneapolis Police.

The first happened around 9:50 p.m. on the 2100 block of 51st Avenue North in the front yard of a residence. Police say a man in the yard when he was approached by another man and shot.

The man who was shot suffered non-life threatening injuries to one of his legs. According to Sgt. Bill Palmer, of the Minneapolis Police, it seems unlikely that this was a random shooting. So far, no one is in custody in this case.

The second shooting occurred around 1:23 a.m. when two men got into a physical altercation inside Pizza Luce in downtown Minneapolis.

One man pulled out a gun and shot the other one, according to police.

Authorities later found the gun in a parking lot. The man who was shot suffered non-life threatening injuries.

No one is currently in custody.
