MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A garbage truck driver got a surprise Tuesday morning when he discovered a man inside the back containment area of his truck.

The garbage truck driver was making pickups near the Warehouse District of downtown Minneapolis when he heard pounding from the back of the truck.

The driver stopped the truck and a man the driver says was homeless climbed out of the back and asked which direction south was before walking away.

The truck driver surmised the homeless person had been sleeping in a dumpster that was emptied into the truck earlier that morning.

The homeless man did not appear seriously injured.
