Bicyclist Who Died In Wis. Event Was Minn. Man

VIROQUA, Wis. (AP) -- A bicyclist who died following a weekend event in southwestern Wisconsin has been identified as a 59-year-old Minnesota man.

Vernon County Sheriff John Spears says the man was Todd G. Peterson of Faribault, Minn.

Peterson was riding in the Kickapoo Kicker bicycle event near the Town of Viroqua on Saturday. Another bicyclist found him lying unconscious on the road next to his bike.

Emergency personnel performed CPR but the county coroner pronounced him dead a short time later.

Spears says Peterson was wearing a helmet but the cause of death doesn't seem to be related to any type of head trauma.
