Pickup Rollover Leaves 1 Dead, 1 Injured In Sibley Co.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 53-year-old man died Sunday evening in Sibley County after being thrown from a pickup truck that went off road, launched off a field approach and rolled.

The county sheriff's office said a Chevrolet Silverado pickup went off road on CSAH 12, a few miles southeast of Arlington, around 6:30 p.m. The pickup drove through a curve, entered a ditch, struck a field approach, launched off it, and rolled. A passenger – Peter Johns of Henderson -- was thrown from pickup. He was not wearing a seat belt. Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene.

Rescue crews helped the driver -- 44-year-old Ruby Johns, also of Henderson – from the pickup. A helicopter brought her to the Hennepin County Medical Center, where she was listed in stable condition. She was wearing a seat belt, the sheriff's office said.

The crash is under investigation.
