Minn. Supreme Court Returns To Capacity

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The Minnesota Supreme Court is getting back to capacity with the installment of new Justice David Lillehaug.

He's the second appointee of Gov. Mark Dayton to the state's seven-member high court. Lillehaug is a former U.S. attorney for Minnesota and a lawyer with deep ties to Democratic politics. He was to take his oath Friday afternoon at a ceremony in Minneapolis.

Lillehaug replaces Justice Paul Anderson, who retired last month. Lillehaug is the 91st person to hold the title of Supreme Court justice in Minnesota.

Late last month, Lillehaug revealed he was diagnosed with throat cancer. But he says it was caught early, is localized and is highly curable.
