Timberwolves Exercise 1-Year Option On Dante Cunningham
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Friday they've exercised a one-year option on Dante Cunningham's contract for the 2013-14 season.
Cunningham, 26, averaged 8.7 points and 5.1 rebounds per game in one of his best seasons, his first as a member of the Timberwolves. He scored in double figures in 32 games last season, including 10 of his last 16.
The Timberwolves acquired Cunningham last July in a trade with the Memphis Grizzlies for guard Wayne Ellington. For his career, Cunningham is averaging 6.2 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. He was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers in 2009.
