AAA Expanding Service To Bike Trails

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- We all know AAA provides emergency services for your car if you're having trouble on the road. But starting today they're taking those same services to the bike trails.

Starting Monday, AAA Minneapolis will be offering roadside assistance to people on bicycles. It's modeled to operate the same as their program for cars. So if you're biking and you get a broken chain, a flat tire or have any other issue with your bike, AAA can help.

"We'll get you somewhere you need to be to help with your bike, whether it's a repair shop or to your home," said Matt Hehl, communications director with AAA Minneapolis.

It should give bicyclists a peace of mind when their out on the road. The service is also included if you're renting a bike or using one of the Nice Ride bikes in the Twin Cities.
