Police: 20-Month-Old Child Drowns In Wis. Lake

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said a 20-month-old child died Tuesday after drowning in a western Wis. lake.

The Burnett County Sheriff's Office and Grantsburg Police Department responded to the incident at about 5:36 p.m.  after receiving a report of a missing child. When authorities arrived, several agencies were on hand to conduct a search for the child.

Authorities said about an hour later, the child was found in Memory Lake in the Village of Grantsburg, Wis. The 20-month-old girl was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Authorities said what led up to the incident is still under investigation. The name of the girl has not been released.
